In the past few years, many midwifes have left the public Danish labor wards, but at the Hospital of Southern Jutland in Aabenraa, they have managed to retain their midwifes and create a place where new lives get a good start. We follow the midwives in Aabenraa as they assist expectant parents in what may be the greatest moment of their lives, but also when they must deal with difficult and life-threatening situations. And it takes a lot to give so much of yourself every day. Midwife - In between life and death is a film about the strength, professionalism, and tremendous care required—and the difficult dilemmas faced—when facilitating the life-changing moment when a new life begins.
